MOP and DC/DA Contract management
Our team have years of experience managing MOP, DC/DA contracts and organising mandatory half-hourly (HH) meter data and any meters that are covered by the P272 upgrade of 05-08 non-half-hourly meters for commercial energy users across the UK. For all HH meters, businesses have a mandatory requirement to appoint a Meter Operator (MOP) and a Data Collector/Data Aggregation (DC/DA) provider, which are chargeable as part of a business’ non-commodity costs that are agreed at the start of your energy contract.

Your commercial energy supplier will appoint a default MOP DC/DA on your behalf if you do not already have a contract in place giving you no visibility of these charges. However, our team can appoint a MOP DC/DA provider of your choice and help your business to uncover financial savings within these hidden costs.
- Meter Operator (MOP) – This covers the installation of the meter, maintenance, and necessary communication equipment for sending half-hourly meter reads.
- Data Collector (DC) – Data Collectors are responsible for collecting and validating meter data and will forward this to the Data Aggregator.
- Data Aggregator (DA) – The Data Aggregator validates the data used for invoicing.
- P272 – All non-half-hourly (NHH) meters in profiles 05-08 should have been switched over to half-hourly meters by 1st April 2017 and will be legally required to have appointed MOP, DC/DA contracts.
